State Rep Debate – Format
Rep. Tim Toomey,
Moderated by former Cambridge Mayor
Ken Reeves
Wed., June 30,
A.
Each of the three candidates will have an opportunity to respond to the pre-determined
questions (on other side of this sheet), in random order.
B.
Candidates will have 90 seconds for each question, for which we'll have a
timekeeper. Ken Reeves will ask follow-ups as he sees fit.
C.
An opening statement from each candidate too, so the first half will take about
an hour.
D.
We'll then have a brief break, during which time audience members can submit
questions for the second half. Audience members will be given an index card
upon entry for that purpose.
E.
Some PDS and PDC volunteers will select / combine / sequence the questions for
the second half – a half-dozen to a dozen.
F.
90 second responses (we'll adjust if the candidates don't need that much time)
means about an hour for the second half too.
G.
All three candidates will have an opportunity to respond to all questions. Audience
members can address their questions to whichever candidate(s) they like, and
the other candidates may then volunteer to answer also.
H.
A brief closing statement from each candidate at the end.
